Confusion -Dual Poetry with slp Martin

across the turf
he woke
breathless with wonder
and then with lust
did he begin
to collect
all that he saw
or was he conscious
in the midst of dream
a pinch will tell
but he recalls
that even in a dream
feelings can lie
feeling a lover’s kiss
who is not there
the odd march
the trembling ground
spindly legs
a mile long
he childishly toddled
across the plains
singing lyrics
he once heard
“you’re probably wondering
why i’m here
and so do i
and so do i…”

care for a reading

This is the tenth poem Charlie/slpmartin and I have wrote together with Dual Poetry. We write via email and have yet to meet.

Dual Poetry: a prearranged poetry writing challenge between two people to evolve a new poem where each writer must respond to the other writer’s lines (4 -5 ) until both parties agree that the poem is complete.
