Haunted by the Past~ almost a Villanelle

Haunted by forgotten pains of days past
leads a slow climb from the depths of a bay
with a song she prays for release at last.

The sparrows dance through crevices of now
with western winds bringing clouds of dismay
haunted by forgotten pains of days past.

A sacrifice made for him with a vow
unselfish acts of hardship will defray
with a song she prays for release at last.

Shattered images hang on a week bough
bleeding from a heart with tears of betray
haunted by forgotten pains of days past.

Echoing cries of the violins bow
fades into the shadows of yesterday
with a song she prays for release at last.

The path towards forgiving will allow
living in the now and not stuck halfway
haunted by forgotten pains of days past
with a song she prays for release at last.
